The author recommends practicing your touch by placing your driver over two books and using it as a guide for your shot. See the photo below taken from the article
After reading this I thought about two things.
First, I probably wouldn't use my driver. I would even go so far as too just look for a broom handle or something in similar size.
Second, I think he's actually hitting that ball in his living room if you look at the picture. For you guys that actually start smacking chip shots in your living rooms, I can just imagine hearing the screaming wives already.
